ANTI-VIRUS SAYS HL.EXE IS A VIRUSHellStrike uses Metahook, another plugin platform for GoldSrc games. For this to work it needs a modified 'hl.exe'. This is what your anti-virus is detecting. I assure everyone it is not malicious but I also will NOT force anyone to play it. So if you do not feel confident then skip playing this mod. However, if you feel you can trust me then just add HellStrike to your anti-virus' exceptions.

I INSTALLED A MAP BUT IT WON'T LOAD SOMETHING ABOUT A PRECACHE PROBLEM1. Go to 'cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs'2. Open 'plugins-hstrike.ini' in Notepad3. Find the line that says 'hstrike/unprecacher.amxx'4. Put a semi-colon (;) at the start of that line. (ie. ';hstrike/unprecacher.amxx')5. Save and exit.

The 'unprecacher' plugin blocks seldom or never used assets from being precached, freeing up resources. The map probably uses an asset that is blocked from being precached. Adding the semi-colon disables the plugin.

Had a lot of fun playing this mod. The gameplay is good like it is a different game. The music is cool and the attachments is pretty cool too. Thanks for making this mod you guys are awesome. Just a suggestion: It would be cool if there is a feature with dual wield pistols when you buy in the addons. Also if there is any chance if you replace the hostage ai with cscz (gamebanana.com/ mods / 39376) here is the skin (gamebanana.com/ mods/ 232008). I tried to replace the dll with the new ai hostage but the problem is the prone didn't work.

Part of the nostalgia lies within the alternate maps I used to play with friends at the local GameNet. I have found GameMaps.com relatively good for finding maps, although I didn't search too hard and am not aware of any other map repositories. My favorite maps include aim_map and fy_iceworld2k. Once you download the zip file, you can extract all the files in /path/to/cs16_directory/cstrike/maps. Now you can issue changelevel in the console to change the map. All of this will be easier with mods.

Metamod and AMX Mod X are Mod managers with some facilities that make mod creation and management easier. CSDM is short for Counter Strike DeathMatch. Metamod is the initial mod manager, AMX Mod X is a plugin for Metamod, and CSDM is a plugin for AMX Mod X, hence why it's required to install these in order.

CSDM is a plugin for AMX Mod X. The original CSDM plugin version 2.1 seems to be outdated and not working. The KWo version 2.1.3d is the most recent one that I've found worked very well as of today. Follow the KWo CSDM thread where new versions are released. To install, download the zip file provided there and extract into addons/amxmodx directory as mentioned in the official installation documentation which applies to the KWo version just as well. I had to add csdm_amxx to addons/amxmodx/configs/modules.ini to get it working.
